How is THC-O different from Delta-8?

While THC-O is considered an alternative to the more potent and more psychoactive Delta-9 THC, delta-8 is still the more "hemp" like cannabinoid in the group. It's also less powerful, more common and more of a "dosing agent", at least in comparison to the stronger alternatives (HHC, THC-O, THC-P). When used in small amounts, the relaxing and body-heavy effects of delta-8 THC can be similar to that of an indica strain when paired with THC-O.

First-time users in the world of alternative cannabinoids often enjoy using delta-8 THC more than THC-O, as it is more in line to what one would expect as a delta-9 thc alternative. 

THC-O, on the other hand, is a totally different cannabinoid. People with a strong THC tolerance are likely to feel strong sedation, euphoria, and even slight cerebral effects that have been said to be reminiscent of psychedelics.

Again, we can't say much about THC-O's standard effects, as lab research is fairly limited. Although this is the case, based on the reports from various users, we would recommend practicing caution ahead of trying larger doses of THC-O.

Where does THC-O come from?

The story of THC-O is a wild one, indeed. As one of the most common alt-cannabinoids on the market today, it also has history that precedes it that can give some insight into why it's so popular now.

The first notable reference to THC-O comes from a time where cannabis was for the most part, not as popularized as is today.

Surprisingly enough, this wasn't due to it's recreational potential. In fact, it's been said that THC-O is one of the compounds that was used during the Edgewood Military Experiments of the 1940's. The Edgewood experiments were essentially a way for the US military to explore the effects of a variety of chemicals depending on their potential use case in war.

THC-O is said to have been used as an during these experiments due to it's intense psychoactive effects, making it ideal as a mind-control or truth-serum compound. Obviously a far-fetched concept today, however, these topics were frequently discussed during the tense atmosphere given the ongoing conflict.

However, outside of these experiments, discussion of THC-O for the most part went silent until the recent hemp boom.

Chewy is one of our more unique THC-O infused hemp flower strains. The genetics (Wookies x F1) combined with the added infusion of CBN create an interesting variety of effects. You can expect effects that are reminiscent of an indica leaning hybrid, with a "creeper" effect due to the added CBN. Chewy has been noted as a great strain for end of day relief with a unique sweet & spice like terpene.

Garlic OG

Another popular strain in our THC-O line-up is our Garlic OG. Garlic OG is a unique strain with lineage from Special Sauce. Those who have enjoyed it previously can attest that the name is earned - primarily due to it's aroma's likeness to Garlic. This in large part is due to a fantastic terpene profile that encompasses a fair amount of nerolidol.

Garlic OG is an indica leaning hybrid, so effects are fairly relaxing and calm in comparison to the ups and downs that Chewy will bring.

Harlequin

Harlequin is our third strain in our THC-O line up. Unlike Garlic OG, however, Harlequin is definitely a day time strain. With lineage from Colombian Gold x Thai, this strain is extremely uplifting and great for activities. Terpene profile is very spicy with hints of pinene.

What Makes THC-O So Different?

It's the tiny "Acetate" molecule that's sent to your CB1 receptors (Brain) once its been ingested or smoked.  While many describe THC-O as a very spiritual and introspective feeling, it may also be the ideal cannabinoid for dealing with intense nausea or chronic pain.  Similar to ingesting edibles, users will have to wait 20 to 30 minutes in order to feel the effects of THC-O. This is because your body has to separate (digest) the acetate molecule from the THC molecule before it’s sent to your CB1 receptors (brain).
